About
Rocky View County has launched public engagement on the future of recreation facilities in the Springbank area.
The County is working with the Springbank Park For All Seasons and the Springbank Community Association to explore how recreation projects can be delivered in a way that meets community needs and makes the best use of available land and funding. This includes evaluating proposed recreation facilities, amenities, timing and phasing, and location options.
Why this Engagement Matters
This review is part of the County’s broader capital planning process, and feedback will be shared with Council on July 22, 2025, to help guide planning and funding decisions. Your input will help shape the future of recreation in Springbank.
We encourage you to be part of this important conversation. If you were unable to attend the June 19th open house, an online survey is live below and will be open for three weeks.
We Want Your Feedback!

What Projects Are Being Considered
The South Springbank Community Facilities Business Case
The South Springbank Facility Business Case was approved by the Recreation Governance Committee in February 2023.
The South Springbank Facility Business Case was divided into 3 phases of priority based on the projected construction timeline:
The Springbank Park for All Seasons Expansion Project
Rocky View County Recreation Governance Committee directed Administration to work with SPFAS to align its Expansion Business Case with Phase 2 of the South Springbank Community Facilities Business Case.
A New Approach
At the April 8, 2025 Council Meeting, Council directed the County to work with the Springbank Park For All Seasons and the Springbank Community Association to:
- Finalize 'building footprint' opportunities on County-owned land for both the SPFAS Expansion Facility and the Community Event Centre, including cost savings and related alternatives;
- Host a community engagement session to gather input
Under this direction, Administration has worked with both community groups to create collaborative alternatives for the community's consideration.
