Outcome
On November 12, 2025, the Governance Committee received Administration’s Exploring Waste and Wildlife Solutions in Bragg Creek update report for information.
With engagement now complete, the County is proceeding with an education‑first approach supported by signage, business toolkits, and periodic visual checks of commercial and park bins to help reduce garbage as a wildlife attractant. No new bylaw has been adopted at this time.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey and discussions. Two What We Heard reports are available for review. One summarizes community perspectives and one summarizes commercial property owner perspectives. These reports outline the key themes, concerns, and ideas that informed the County’s next steps.

About the Engagement
Rocky View County sought input from the Bragg Creek community and commercial property owners on practical ways to minimize human-wildlife interactions related to garbage.
Community feedback highlighted concerns about unsecured waste and overflowing communal bins in busy areas. The County collaborated with Bragg Creek Wild and engaged directly with local businesses to understand current practices, challenges, and opportunities to improve bin security and waste management across the hamlet.
